Why I Chose Acupuncture
I did not come to acupuncture casually. I came to it through both professional observation and personal experience.
Early in my training and clinical work, I saw too many people being told to wait and see, manage symptoms indefinitely, or accept pain and dysfunction as their new normal. I was especially struck by how often opioids were presented as the default solution for chronic pain, even when patients were searching for options that supported healing rather than temporary relief.
At the same time, I was navigating my own health challenges. I experienced debilitating back pain and knew I wanted a different path, one that supported the body holistically rather than relying on medications that masked symptoms. That search led me to acupuncture and integrative medicine, where I saw firsthand how restoring communication within the body could create meaningful change.
My husband and I also faced fertility challenges, including difficulty maintaining a pregnancy. Living through that journey gave me a deep appreciation for the physical and emotional toll that women and couples experience when answers feel limited or unclear.
These experiences shape how I practice today. They guide my commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care that supports healing at the root, whether a patient is dealing with chronic pain, neuropathy, hormonal imbalance, or complex conditions affecting daily life and long term wellbeing.
