We Look Beyond the Painful Spot
Back pain doesn't always involve just one muscle or one area. Muscular and myofascial tension, guarding, altered movement, and irritation along the low back, hips and surrounding tissues can all influence how you move and how you feel. That's why we evaluate more than where it hurts.
During your consultation, we look at your symptoms, movement patterns, areas of muscular and myofascial tension, previous injuries, and the care you've already received. Depending on your individual needs, treatment may incorporate acupuncture, myofascial release techniques, and other integrative therapies available within our clinic.
Our goal is straightforward: reduce pain and tension, support more comfortable movement, and help you get back to the activities you've been avoiding.
Support That Works Alongside Your Existing Care
You may already have an orthopedic physician, primary care provider, chiropractor, physical therapist, or pain specialist involved in your care. Imaging, medication, physical therapy, injections, rehabilitation, or other treatments may all be appropriate parts of your healthcare plan. Pain and related symptoms can still be present during treatment, healing, and recovery.
Our approach is drug-free and designed to complement your existing healthcare plan, not interfere with it. We focus on helping address pain, muscular and myofascial tension, and related symptoms while your other providers continue managing the medical, structural, or rehabilitative aspects of your condition. For some patients, that means providing additional support while they are in physical therapy or recovering from an injury. For others, it means addressing persistent pain that remains despite previous treatment. When something falls outside our scope or warrants further medical evaluation, we'll encourage you to follow up with the appropriate healthcare provider.
The goal isn't to replace the care you already have. It's to help you move forward with less pain.
What to Expect
Your care starts with a complimentary consultation. We'll discuss what's hurting, how long it's been happening, what you've already tried, how back pain is affecting your everyday life, and what you want to get back to doing.
We evaluate whether you're an appropriate candidate and, if we believe we can help, recommend an individualized treatment plan based on your needs.
When additional therapies are appropriate, they are included as part of your treatment rather than treated as separate add-ons. This allows us to individualize your care without limiting treatment to a single approach.
Ready to start? If treatment is appropriate and scheduling permits, you may be able to begin the same day.
We know pain doesn't always fit neatly into a 9-to-5 schedule. Anchor Point Acupuncture offers weekend appointments, and established patients may have access to early-morning and later appointment times when scheduling allows. We build flexibility into our schedule to help patients stay consistent with their care, even when work, travel, and family life get busy.
